YOU CAN IMPROVE THE LIFE OF A FOSTER CHILD
  • Adopt a child
  • Become a foster parent
  • Be a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate)
  • Become a Mentor

OTHER THINGS YOU CAN DO:
  • Hire Foster Youth. By connecting young people with your craft, you can help foster youth learn skills that will help them get jobs when they "age out" of the foster care system at age 18. Help in this way and you'll be helping to beat the odds for foster kids. Jobs - and a belief in young people's abilities - builds confidence and esteem, and can help turn-around unemployment figures for foster youth, which average 45% for kids leaving the foster care system.

  • Attend and Promote Special Events that Focus Attention on Foster Care and the Needs of Kids. Attend benefits and other special events that raise both money and public awareness. Partner with organizations and others who know the drill, and gain strength from numbers.
